Since Last Time

Since my last post I have done the project with the other students on the pbwiki, I have also started writing my 7 page course paper. While it seems like alot I am slowly but surely getting toward 7 pages. that is all I have been doing as of now.

Lately....

Lately on my website I have been doing the regular stuff just getting to know the things it has to offer and gathering the information for my paper. I have been messing around with the groups and widgets mostly and seeing other ways that you can express yourself on hi5.com. That is what I have been doing on that site as of lately.
Also we started our project on pbwiki with the students from NMSU and Capital University, and so far on that my group has discussed some things that would be good to include in the paper, like how we have grown up with the internet and how people want the newest technology right when it comes out etc. That is mostly what I have been doing lately. Dr. Carlin Lecture

I found Dr. Carlins lecture interesting because she talked about focus groups which I was not too familar with befor. She talked about the difference between online and in person groups, and she stressed the importance of having a good moderater because with out a good moderator the discussion can go virtually no where and the focus group will gain no knowledge from that session. I didnt ask any questions but the ones that were asked and answered were good like the appearance of people to be a leader and so on.

Communities on Website

On my website the communities I found were under the "groups" there are groups for about anything you can search something specific or you can just browse. I joined a group for "Chiefs Fans" and you can see the posts that people have made and comment on them as well as start your own.

Activity Log

This past week on HI5 I have added a profile picture as well as I found that you can have a status pretty much like as you can in Facebook, also I see that you can send gifts like todays popular gift is a teddy bear for Valentines day. I am going to find some groups to join within the next week, also there is something called a "Widget" that I am going to mess around with to find out what it is. More to come next week.

Activity Log

So far on the website I am reviewing (Hi5) I have opened an account and edited my page by putting the stuff about me and adding a profile picture. Also I have invited a few of my friends and added some of them. That is all I have got done so far. More to come soon.

Computer stories similarity

After reading other blogs I see that about everyone used dial up internet at home and started at school using computers, also one person had the same kind of first computer as me. Most of them stated that they first used a computer in the 90's. Those were the similarities in the stories that I read.
